Warwick Neck Elementary parents and guardians are reminded that there are a lot of year-end opportunities to take part in your child's day and year at school!
Some events are hosted by the school, or they are hosted by the PTA. As a result, some initiatives may have certain requirements that have their roots in ensuring safety, equity, and organization (among many things). Read on and learn more below...
Field Day -- Fri., June 6 (Rain Date: Mon., June 9):
-- Parent volunteers are needed to help run activities, relays, competitions, and more!
-- Since this is a PTA-hosted event, all volunteers must be current, registered PTA members You can apply for a PTA membership here. It's quick and easy!
-- Additionally, all volunteers must have completed and cleared a BCI (criminal background) check within the last year and provide the BCI check form to the school for proof and filing. BCI's take about 5 minutes and can be completed by walking into any Warwick Police station.
-- VOLUNTEER DEADLINE: Volunteers interested in helping at Field Day must submit the form here that sent home recently with all students, and have a completed a BCI check within the last year that is on file with the school, BY FRIDAY, MAY 30th to allow time for the organization to plan and prepare. (If you cannot print the volunteer form above, please contact Mr. Galligan via email in the school office so a hard copy can be sent home with your child.)
Grade 5 Graduating Class Field Day -- Tues., June 10 (Rain Date: Thu., June 12):
-- A small number of parent volunteers, in addition to the faculty and staff already present at the event, are needed to help safely supervise the day.
-- Since this is a PTA-hosted event, all volunteers must be current, registered PTA members You can apply for a PTA membership here. It's quick and easy!
-- Additionally, all volunteers must have completed and cleared a BCI (criminal background) check within the last year. BCI's take about 5 minutes and can be completed by walking into any Warwick Police station.
-- Volunteers interested in helping at the Class Field Day must notify the 5th Grade Committee by the deadline of Tues., June 3rd via email here.
Field Trips -- Dates vary by class:
-- A small number of parent chaperones may be needed to help safely supervise the day.
-- Since these are school-hosted events, chaperones or volunteers do NOT need to be PTA members.
-- Chaperone needs are assessed and communicated by the grade-level team. If you are interested in chaperoning and unsure if chaperones are necessary, you may inquire with your child's teacher using our online directory here (but please know that there may not be a need for that particular day/trip).
-- Trip dates for each class are provided on the online school events calendar, but for security reasons the locations are publicly withheld and permission slips are not publicly posted.
-- If you are unsure of when your child's trip date is, or if you are in need of a permission slip for your child to participate, please e-mail their teacher using our online directory here.
